The perfect vintage Wardrobe #1

As I have explained before getting to the seaming, there is an enormous amount of research to do befor starting to make the perfect wardrobe. I had some ideas (thank you Grandma) but I had to find the right patterns. And also I had to train "my hands". Well, to do so, there is nothing like Burda patterns. I'm quite a fan of Burda. For the intermediate seamstress like me, there are plenty of clothes and accessories very easy to sew.

Of course, I dream of  vintage Vogue
patterns but I know that my actual level of sewing does not allow it now. So, to move forward but , I decided to make some dresses . It turned out that in Burda issues of  may et and june 2011, there was a few vrey pretty dresses to make. Why dresses? Well because as we say in France, in "May fait ce qu'il te plait" which means in "May do as what you like"! And because obviously this summer is going to be hot and glamourous ! And the beautiful sun gave me the cravefor light as air fabrics like  cotton veil, liberty and soft thin poplin. So to satisfy my urge to dress me all up,I chose those few patterns:

Figure 1: 108 B Burda mai 2011

Figure 2: 128 Burda mai 2011

Figure 3: 125 Burda mai 2011

And also this one found in  Burda June 2011, that I just adore (probably because it is inspired from a famous french actress of the 50's Brigitte Bardot , herself!). I can totally picture it in many different colors but always romantic and fresh, maybe prints! (dress 116) :

So, this week, is going to be about crafting the patterns, alterate them if needed, and of course, to take a walk around my favorite fabric dealer (and in my own personal stock, too)! It's all about happiness!
