What is going on here?

It all began two years ago. While I was working as a personal shopper, I had trouble finding clothes that really suited me. There was always something wrong the cut, the color or the price. I wondered if it was difficult to make my own clothes. I have a degree of fashion design and I was sewing as a hobby. But not in making my very own wardrobe! But I got into it, and I must admit that initially I was not sure where to start. So I thought about the different pieces that would compose my perfect wardrobe : a few dresses, some pants, blouses and jackets of course. All these pieces were not perfect the first time I made them. Sometimes I really wanted to cry for help, other times I was pleasantly surprised because of how easy it was to make those clothes. I suddenly started to believe in my “sewing star”. It was only later that I enjoyed making vintage.

When my grandmother has gone to join my grandfather, she left me a treasure: a few boxes of dry goods, and especially some fashion magazines from 1952 to 55. The illustrations, colors, patterns and especially the little notes from my grandmother next to the models she wanted to make moved me and gave me the bite. From then understood that  there  was a certain idea of womanhood that I wanted to fulfill. A femininity that is not shy, all out there in a classy chic kind of way. As an inspiration there was also the burlesque, the films of the '40s and '50s with actresses like Hepburn (Audrey & Katharine), Ava Gardner, BB, Lauren Bacall, Lili Marlene and many more.

A few weeks ago, in the dark night nearby Paris once I couldn’t sleep. I was dreaming of petticoat and muslin blouses when I decided to move on to a new challenge!?...That was it!

I decided to create a wardrobe of vintage inspiration name worthy and just for me! From then on, I began to research and think pieces that would composed that new wardrobe of mine, fabrics, shapes and patterns . This has opened a world full of creative Glamour. I hope you'll want to share your fashion desires, your advice and cheap vintage ideas with us, right here!
So, Welcome to My little Vintage!
